Ada Lou Perry Renier, age 76, passed away on May 27, 2015 after a courageous 11 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Ada was born in Cedar Springs, Georgia on November 24, 1938, daughter to the late Willie Green and Ruby Perry. After Ada’s father passed away the family moved to Albany, GA. Ada was a star basketball player for Albany High School. After graduating from Albany High School in 1956, she was employed with Bell Telephone Company and also with Northland Hotel on the telephone switch board from 1958-1959. She also worked at Schreiber Cheese and ATT for 16 years. Ada and her husband, Jerry, were married on September 24, 1957 at Turner Air Force chapel in Albany, GA. We will be able to look back on the special love we shared and find comfort in all the cherished memories we had in 57 years. Ada enjoyed the many things that Jerry liked—traveling with the RV motorhome, visiting with her family, dance club, boating, fishing, biking, and bowling. Ada was a member with Jerry at St. John Lutheran Church, De Pere, for over 40 years. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Jerry; three children: Todd (Melissa) Renier, Lisa (Greg) Hicks, and Michelle Renier; grandchildren: Cassie and Alex Renier, Brittany and Brian Walton, Craig “Kiki” Hicks, Sarah (Dayne) Shuda, Rebecca Hicks; sisters: Macie, Avery, and Hallie (Joe) Mondi, Syble Worsley; sister-in-law, Vera Perry; brother-in-law, Tom Renier and his special friend Jacquie Jaaskelainen; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by two brothers, Fleatcher Perry and the Rev. Hampton Perry; sister, Annette Macker; fathers-in-law, George Renier and Frank Zimonick; and mother-in-law, Doris Zimonick. Family and friends may visit Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Wisconsin, 2900 Curry Lane, Suite A, Green Bay, WI 54311. “My mom was passive and kind; caring and never complained. I hope to be more like her, she is an angel. Her laugh makes you smile and holding her hand is precious. She also thought about others always before herself.” The family extends a special thank you to St. Vincent Hospital, Golden Living, Heartland Hospice Care, and friend Carol Salentine for all the care and compassion shown to Ada and her family.
