William R. "Bill" Krueger, Sr., was called home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, at the age of 67 after suffering a stroke. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, stepfather, brother, uncle and friend. Born on October 31st, 1957, in Green Bay, to the late Elton and Dorothy (Baril) Krueger. Bill lived a life marked by kindness, selflessness, and unwavering faith.
Bill was a devoted Christian and a man of strong faith, whose life was a testament to his deep love for God and his dedication to serving others. As a current member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, and previous member of St. John Lutheran Church of Wrightstown, he enjoyed his time singing in the church choir, to uplift and inspire those around him. His gentle spirit and patient demeanor made him a source of comfort and guidance to everyone who knew him.
Bill was loyal and committed to his career, co-workers and customers having worked 40 years for Country Visions Cooperative (formerly Agri-Partners Cooperative and Progressive Farmers Cooperative).
Hardworking and resourceful, Bill had a passion for woodworking and spent countless hours in his shop, crafting projects with care and precision. Whether building, fixing, or tinkering, he found joy in creating and improving the world around him. His love for working with his hands was matched only by his love for a good game of cribbage or Sheepshead. He was willing to teach anyone to play over a cocktail and laughs. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time with family, especially around a good meal.
Above all, Bill was a family man whose dedication to his loved ones was unparalleled. As a strong foundation to his family, they could always turn to him for help, support and advice. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Melissa; his children, William "Bill" Krueger, Jr., Matthew (Jolene) Krueger, Katie (Josh) Kraemer; his grandchildren, Cora and Jeffrey Kraemer; his step-daughters, Lauren, Brooke and Abby Ambrosius; the mother of his children and first wife, Lisa Van Den Elzen; his brothers Danny (Dy) Krueger, Lory Krueger (Venetta) and sister, Diane (Bill) Kopplin, and many beloved extended family members and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Dorothy Krueger, his sister, Linda "Luci" Groth, and stepson, Ross Ambrosius.
Visitation to celebrate Bill's life will be held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Green Bay on Friday, January 24th from 4:00-7:00 pm and Saturday, January 25th from 9:00-10:30am with the service to follow at 11:00am. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life of a man who touched so many hearts. The family asks that you consider wearing blue, flannel or denim as a celebration and remembrance of Bill. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to plant a tree in a meaningful place to honor his love of woodworking.
Bill, you will be deeply missed, but your light will continue to shine in the lives you've touched. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff of Aurora BayCare Medical Center comprehensive stroke center ICU for their incredible care during this difficult time.
