Wayne R. Aschenbrenner

Wayne Aschenbrenner, 73, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin in Crivitz, Wisconsin, creating lasting memories with those he cared about most.

Known for his kind heart and willingness to help others, Wayne was a loyal friend who always lent a helping hand. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory are; his wife of 52 years, Alice (Vande Hey) Aschenbrenner; children, Lea (Ryan Werner) Taylor, Tim (Tina) Aschenbrenner, and one granddaughter, Eva, and his “grand-fur babies”. Wayne is further survived by siblings; Diana (Roger) Loeh, David (Ann) Aschenbrenner, Mary (Carl) Ambrosius, James (Bobbie Anderson) Aschenbrenner, Janet (Brad) Gay; Brother-in-Law, Dan Van Rens, as well as many in-laws, other relatives and many friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Mildred (Vanden Hoogen) Aschenbrenner; and sisters, Joan Nackers and Jean Van Rens.

Family and friends may gather at Cotter Funeral Home (860 N Webster Ave. DePere, WI 54155) on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Visitation will be from 1:00pm, until the time of service at 4:00pm. Sheila De Luca will officiate.
