Thomas George Van Erem, 76, passed away at Bellin Hospital on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Tom was born on December 5, 1947, to the late Caroline and Arthur Van Erem. On August 31, 1974, he married Linda Mooren at St. Francis Church in De Pere. They were just two months from their 50th wedding anniversary.
Tom graduated from De Pere High School in 1969. He worked at Daanen and Janssen Crushed Stone, C. A. Lawton, and Valley Cabinet. After retirement he started Tom’s Custom Woodworking where he made many scroll saw products. He was very proud of the quality and designs he created. Linda and Tom made many friends through all the craft fairs and markets he attended to sell his benches, plaques, and designs.
Tom invested much of his time in his family. He made many wooden treasures such as signs, jewelry boxes and plaques for his grandchildren. He loved to bake cookies for them and his friends. He loved hanging out with his children and grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren. Tom is survived by Linda, his son Jason (Amy) Van Erem and his daughter Becky (George) Hernandez. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Chantel, Kaylee, Kasey, Samantha, and Michael Van Erem and Esperanza, Geroge Jr., Mary, and Emma Hernandez. He is survived by his brothers: Clete (Ann) Van Erem, Howard (Lynnette) Van Erem, and Jerry (Debbie) Van Erem and his sister in law Carol (Steve) Jandrin and many nieces, nephew, and friends.
He preceded in death by his parents, his in laws Robert and Cecilia Mooren, and his brother and sister in law Dale and Rita Van Erem.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, July2, 2024 from 9:00am until 11:00am, with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00am at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 4805 Sportsman Dr. (Ledgeview) De Pere.
