Susan (Susie) Marie Vanness (Brusky) beloved mother and sister died peacefully Monday February 21, 2022, after a short illness.
Susie was born on September 22, 1950, to Dr. Eugene and Hazel (Duddeck) Brusky of Green Bay. She was the fourth of fourteen children.
Her early years were filled with family activities. Susie enjoyed skiing, horseback riding and along with her dad earned a private pilot’s license at Austin Straubel.
After graduating from St. Joseph Academy, she attended college at UWGB before pursuing her lifelong passion as a florist.
Susie settled in the Green Bay area and raised five wonderful children. She loved planning family gatherings and assisted in numerous charitable fundraisers. She had a generous spirit and for anyone needing a place to stay or a helping hand, her door was always open.
Retiring from the Piggly Wiggly after over fifteen years, Susie continued being active. She drove a school bus for Lamers and maintenance and housekeeping for Ridgeview apartments In DePere. Finally fulfilling her dream Susie moved to Ocala Florida in 2021 with her friend Lyle Last.
She will be sadly missed by her five children Thomas (Sara) Danz, Tammy (Jay) Boettcher, Taylor (Melissa) Vanness, Paul Gilsoul and Adam Vanness and her nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Hazel and her sister Jeanne.
Susie was a free spirit and loved by everyone she touched during her life.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Friday, March 4, from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:30am. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
