Steven J. Piso

The family of Steven J. Piso sadly announces his passing from this earth; he slipped away peacefully at the age of 70, on August 15, 2026. He was born in Kaukauna, Wisconsin on July 24, 1956.

Steve was a true craftsman, possessing a curiosity and passion, in Hickory for all things mechanical. Beginning in his teens, he became the go-to guy for anyone who needed advice or help keeping their equipment running.

Steve cut his teeth at his dad’s service station in Breed, Wisconsin, then moved on as a mechanic at Ehlinger’s Garage, in Suring. Upon Don Ehlinger’s retirement, Steve took a service technician position at Peterson Ford/Mercury, in Oconto Falls. After a decade there as an expert transmission technician, he was employed at D&B Implement, in Hickory, as a heavy equipment mechanic. He finished his working career as a welder/fabricator at Graetz Manufacturing, in Pound, Wisconsin.

Steve’s retirement was spent restoring vintage tractors, catching up on old TV shows, and helping out his neighbors.

It’s our hope that Steve’s afterlife will be more peaceful than his days spent in this world. He is survived by his two daughters; Shilo Lee Hatfield and Valeen Marie Piso, his siter, Barbara Patz, brother Bob Piso, and sister Karen Callahan.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth “Ken” and Elizabeth “Betty” Piso.

Per Steve’s request, there will be no services.
