Shirley Tilot

Shirley Tilot, 85, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 3, 2026 surrounded by her family.

She was born December 5, 1940 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Shirley was the beloved daughter of Art and Ellen Strebel of Green Bay. She graduated from Preble High School in June, 1959.

On November 26, 1959 she married Ken Tilot at Holy Cross church in Bay Settlement. Ken was at her side for 65 years and together they raised five children.

For nearly 25 years, Shirley and Ken owned and operated a dairy farm in Denmark, Wisconsin. In addition to helping on the farm and raising five children, Shirley frequently worked outside the home. Over the years she worked as a bookkeeper for Naus Clothing, the Denmark Co-op and the Green Bay Packers. Shirley liked nice clothes and fun jewelry so, as a hobby, she also worked as a representative for Sarah Coventry jewelry, Queensway fashions and Avon cosmetics.

When she had free-time, Shirley had no shortage of interests. She and Ken liked to dance, whether it was dancing a jitter-bug in the family living room, a polka at a wedding or a country line dance in a dance hall. In retirement, Shirley took up golf. Early risers after years of farming, Shirley and Ken were among the first golfers on the course each morning in the summer. Shirley also loved to read, she loved doing puzzles and she loved watching the Packers. She also enjoyed cheering on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they pursued their own interests.

Shirley is survived by: Daughter Doreen (Phil) Zehren, and their family Ashley (Greg) Anthon and their children Harper and Amelia; Leo P. Zehren; daughter Linda Kreft and her family; Heather (Nate) Pohle and their children Zander and Maddox; Adam (Amy) Kreft and their children Henry, Harvey, Harrison and Hudson; Brittany (Seth) Gieske and their children Parker and Everly; son Chris (Deanna) Tilot and their family; Aundrea; Trevor (Sarah); Holden (Loren) and their daughter Claire; son Brian (Geeta) and his children; Travis (Caitlyn) and their children Maeve and Asher; Amanda (Brandon) Stradel and their children Augustus and Everett; Granddaughter Kelly (Shaun)Wall and her family David, Miranda, Michael, Pierce, Rylee; She is further survived by her sister Florence Real, brother-in-law Gerald Tilot and sisters-in-law Arlene Phillips, Sally Borely and Rita Tilot.

In addition to her husband, Ken, and parents Art and Ellen Strebel, she was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Joslin Hermans and her grandchildren Nicole Joslin and Nathan Tilot. She was also preceded by her father-in-law/mother-in-law William and Mary Tilot; sister-in-law Marcella Tilot; sister-in-law/brother-in-law Jackie and Cy VanLanen; brothers-in-law Milton Greatens and Ray Phillips; brother-in-law Maurice Tilot.

Private services will be held for the immediate family. Arrangements provided by Cotter Funeral Home.
