Shaun Allen Martin, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

The son of Mark A. Martin and Janice L. Martin (Nys), Shaun was born on November 9, 1983.

Shaun grew up and attended school in Denmark, Wisconsin. He had a deep love of all animals and was surrounded by dogs, cats, goats, bunnies, and ponies in his younger years, but he especially loved cats.

Shaun never outgrew his love for animals. Whenever he visited a home with pets, they somehow ended up curled up in his lap. He was everyone's favorite pet sitter, and the animals seemed just as happy to see him as he was to see them. They brought him peace, and he returned that gift with endless kindness and compassion.

Shaun was also someone you could count on. He was always there to help his grandma and his aunt whenever they needed him. He never looked for recognition or praise. He helped those who needed it simply because that was who he was.

Shaun's gentle heart, his willingness to help, and his compassion for both people and animals have left a lasting mark on all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Shaun was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Jean Martin, and his grandfather, Kenneth Nys, and uncle Vince Martin.

Shaun is survived by his parents, Mark A. Martin and Janice L. Martin (Nys); his sister, Bettina (Jordan Franklin) Martin Schuster; his nephews, Grady Schuster and Wilder Franklin; his grandmother, Audrey Nys; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family extends a special thank you to Shaun's aunts, Nancy (Bob) Hacker and Roxann Nys, along with his cousin, Christine Schmitz, for helping us navigate this difficult time.

Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Cotter Funeral Home (536 County Rd. R Denmark, WI 54208) for a visitation and memorial service. Visitation will start at 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Pastor Jeff Meyer will officiate.
