Sharon Faye Zachowski

Sharon Faye Zachowski, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 17, 2026. She was born on January 12, 1945, in Appleton to the late Norman and Emily (Wagner) Bungeon. Sharon graduated from Wrightstown High School, and on June 18, 1966, she married the love of her life, Myron J. Zachowski in Woodville, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2005. For a brief time after they were married, Sharon worked at Fort Howard Paper Mill. She left to stay home and care for their growing family. Sharon was also known as “Shari, the Bag Lady”, entertaining people with her singing telegrams. She enjoyed gardening and then canning her vegetables. Sharon also liked to knit and crochet, giving many of her crochet hot pads away as gifts. She loved to cook and would cook for many. You didn’t leave her home empty handed. Her love of family and friends, generosity and humor will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children; Anthony J. (Karen) Zachowski and Tammy J. Zachowski, grandchildren; Beau (Alicia Pendergast) Zachowski, Kaelyn (Fiancee Levi Borchart) Zachowski, Emily Rutherford and Peyton Rutherford. Sharon is further survived by her sisters; Shirley Ambrosius, Frances Beining, and Viola Schaffer as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Myron, sons, Thomas and Todd Zachowski, sister, Elaine (Jim) Kopecky, brothers; James Bungeon, Kenneth (Mary) Bungeon and Leland (Violet Klang) Bungeon. Sharon is further preceded by her brothers in law, Cliff Schaffer and John Beining.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Cotter Family Gathering Center, 518 Meadow Lane, Wrightstown, beginning at 11:00 until the time of service at 1:00pm.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for the wonderful care Sharon received during her stay there.
