Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Alsteen) Lindsley, age 85 of Green Bay passed away peacefully on Friday March 13, 2026, after living with Alzheimer’s for several years.
She was born on October 20, 1940, in Green Bay, WI and daughter of the late Irving and Zenaida (Fierst) Alsteen. Sandy married Tom Lindsley on October 22, 1960, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Together they raised three sons Jeff, Tim and Dave and two daughters Julie and Jill. Tom preceded her in death in September 2019.
Sandy attended Cathedral Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy. Shortly after Tom and Sandy were married, they started their family having five children in nine years. Sandy was a stay-at-home Mom raising their children until they were in high school. Sandy then found her “career” calling later in life as the Administrative Assistant of the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish for more than 20 years where she nourished wonderful friendships with the pastors, bishops and monsignors of the diocese. Sandy and Tom hosted beautiful dinner parties for them during the holidays as well as hosting for close friends throughout the years.
Sandy was an avid reader enjoying romance novels and later found joy in her favorite author, James Patterson. Her love for music crossed all generations. Her biggest joy was not only watching sporting events of their own children, but mostly sporting events of their grandchildren. There wasn’t an event they missed. Sandy and Tom traveled to Cayman Islands and Cabo San Lucas for years as well as wintertime in AZ. Lastly, her grand-puppies brought great joy to her life.
Survivors include son Jeff (Jeanne) Lindsley and his children: Casey (Christina) Lindsley and Molly (Jared) DeChamps and their son Jett; son Tim (Chris) and their children: Jeana, Katie and Tom; daughter Julie (Gerri Okinski) Lindsley; daughter Jill Jacques (significant other Jeff Rehberg) and her son Carson; son Dave (Cathy) Lindsley and their children: Noah (fiancé Abby Hanmann), Aaron and Lauren.
In addition to her parents and husband Tom, Sandy was preceded in death by her sister Diane Churches, brother-in-law Sam Churches and brother-in-law Jim Gevers.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Angel’s Touch, Sequoia Health and Moments Hospice, who took wonderful care of Sandy.
In lieu of flowers, we welcome you to donate to the local chapter of Alzheimer’s Association.
