Rosemary A. Wegner, 96, Kewaunee formerly of Denmark. Rosemary was born July,21,1929 in Alaska, WI the oldest of 5 children born to Peter and Frances Lauscher. She earned a Bachelor and Master degree in social work at UW Milwaukee. Rosemary was the 1st women elected as the Kewaunee County board supervisor. She worked as a dietary supervisor at Kewaunee Hospital and Algoma Hospital/LTC, worked as a social worker in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Rosemary later worked at Home Instead and Harmony Assisted Living in Denmark.
Rosemary really enjoyed visiting family, reading, knitting and traveling. She had an interest in politics and current events. She was a member of the Denmark Senior Center. Book club and a member of Altrusa. In her younger years Rosemary was a cooking leader in 4H. She is a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark, a member of the Alter Society and helped with the funeral dinners.
Rosemary was married to Howard Wegner and together they had 5 children. Cathy Wegner , Green Bay, Steve (Monica) Wegner Kewaunee, Anne (Allen) Kulhanek, Luxemburg, Lynne (Alan) Schilke, Denmark, Laurie (Lance)Burns, Helena, Montana. 10 grandchildren who she loved dearly. Matt Kulhanek, Andrea (Ben) Sorhweide, Jason (Katie) Kulhanek, Frannie (Andrew) Gisi, Bailey (Kyle) Yeager, Ben Burns, Elise (Nick) Herman, Max (Karen) Schilke, Leah (Trent) Underwood, Mark Schilke. 12 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. Brother-in-law Fran Jadin, Sister-in-law Edith Lauscher, nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Peter and Paul Lauscher, sisters, Marion Wery and Sue Jadin, brother-in-law Kenneth Wery, niece and nephew, Mary Wery, PJ Lauscher.
Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home (Denmark Chapel) 536 Hwy R, Denmark on Monday, July 7 from 9:00am until the cortege leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday at All Saints Catholic Church Denmark with Rev. Xavier Amirtham, O.Pream officiating. Interment in St Adelbert Cemetery in Slovan.
