Rose Karbon

Rose Karbon, age 95, of Cooperstown, passed away at home on March 1, 2026. She was born in Manitowoc to George and Clara (Wanish) Baranowski on October 10, 1930 and grew up in Cooperstown, attending St. James Grade School. Rose later graduated from Denmark High School and Beauty Culture School in Green Bay. After working at HC Prange Salon, she married Howard Karbon at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown and transitioned to a stay-at-home mom. In 1983, she went back to work at the Larsen Company until the plant closed in 2003. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed traveling, reading, doing jig saw puzzles, gardening and dogs. Howard and Rose were Green Bay Packer season ticket holders and enjoyed watching games together, as well as having been proud attendees of the Ice Bowl.

Surviving Rose are her children: Paul of Manitowoc, Daniel of Green Bay, Kim (Don) of Arizona, Jean (Ben) of Washington and Sally of Two Rivers as well as her brother Phil of Green Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; son, Mark; her parents and her sister Joan.

According to Rose’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Cooperstown.
