Rosalie Julia Kutz, age 83, Manitowoc, was called to her eternal home on Thursday, February 19th.

Rosie was born in Manitowoc on January 28, 1943, to Hilmer and Verona (Engelbrecht) Radue. She grew up on the family farm in Maribel and was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran, Maribel. She attended Manitowoc Lutheran High School and Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN

On August 31,1969, Rosie married Leon Kutz. They made their home in Fort Atkinson, where Rosie enjoyed raising her children, serving her church, and teaching countless Kindergartners at St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

In 2003, after retiring, they moved to Manitowoc. Rosie enjoyed quilting, reading, spending time with grandchildren, and sharing Jesus’ love with others of all ages. She will be remembered for her unselfish devotion to her family and kindness to others.

Rosie is survived by two brothers: Paul (Sandy) Radue of Maribel, and David (Betteann) of Manitowoc and special cousin Lois (Larry) Schneider; her children: Matthew (Becky) of Manitowoc; Lorna (Jason) Kapanke of Coon Valley; Mark (Heidi) of Nodine, MN; and Sarah (Adam) Lambrecht of Onalaska. 13 grandchildren: Sam, Max, and Madie (Jon Otto) Kutz; Garrett (Mel), Jack (Anna), and Will Kapanke; Josh (Molly), Ben, and Katie Kutz; Simeon, Ada, Leo, and Reuben Lambrecht. 2 great grandchildren: Gus Otto and Haddy Kapanke. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Chip and Doug Bode and Marsha and Roger Hake as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Rosie is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Leon, and her baby sister, Lorna Mae.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, February 23 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 14311 South Maribel Road, Maribel, WI. Officiating will be Rev. William Harley with burial to follow at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. - 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. John’s Lutheran Church and School in Maribel.

A special thank you to the staff at Felician Village and Sharon Richardson Hospice for their love and dedication to Rosie’s care.

Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care, 536 County Road R, Denmark, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
