Pulaski

Robert E. "Bob" Lass, age 84 of Pulaski, passed away peacefully at home following a brief illness. He was born on June 23, 1940, to the late Howard and Elizabeth (Leonhardt) Lass in Waukegan, Illinois. After graduating from high school, Bob joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for most of the three years he was enlisted. He returned stateside in September of 1960 and on August 26, 1961, he married Janice Grantschnig in Round Lake, Illinois. Bob and Jan moved to Eagle River and stayed there for over 20 years, then moving to the Pulaski area to be closer to family.

Bob worked in the sheet metal industry for most of his career and in his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking. He created many things family or friends requested by simply showing him a picture. Bob was an avid fisherman, as such, he assisted with Pauls ProAm Musky tournament for over 20 years. He attended deer camp, but usually as the camp cook. Bob also enjoyed being a committee member of Ducks Unlimited for many years.

Bob had a great sense of humor with an outgoing personality that enabled him to connect with anyone he met. You could always count on him if you needed his help as he was very dependable and a hardworking man. He loved his time spent with friends and had a great love of his family time. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice, children; Bob Lass, Joe (Kathy) Lass and Laura (Bart) Boyden, grandchildren; Jason (Katie) Lass, Matt Lass, Will (Shanee Bookal) Boyden, Seth (Brooke) Boyden and Lily Boyden. Bob is further survived by great grandchildren; Josey, Brie, Jose, Johann and Gael as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In keeping with his wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later time. Memorials in Bobs’ name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
