Robert "Bobby" Alois Kozlovsky passed away on March 30, 2024, in De Pere, Wisconsin, at the age of 77. He was born on December 13, 1946, in Green Bay, WI. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, known for his kind and supportive nature. He was a listener by heart, with a sharp wit, impeccable timing, and dry sense of humor.
Bobby proudly served in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1966 to 1972 in the Engineering Division as an Electrician. He was most proud of traveling the country completing construction/electrical work at bases from North Carolina, Arizona and California. After his service in the reserves, he married Gail VanNieuwenhoven of Pulaski on February 17th, 1973 then began raising a family and embarked on a long career with Wisconsin Bell Telephone/AT&T, starting as a line technician and retiring as an engineer after 40 + years of service.
He graduated from Denmark High School in Denmark, WI, where he had fond memories of playing for Coach Leiterman. Following graduation, he was invited to try out and then play for the Kansas City Chiefs farm team. After a brief time, playing he decided to instead continue his education at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College completing courses in Architecture and then join the reserves. Bobby worshipped at Holy Trinity Pine Grove/Prince of Peace. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, caring for his home and cottage, traveling, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and maintaining the family business, the Drift Inn.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Gail, children Christopher (Nicole), Nathan (Suzanne), Jamie (Tashya), grandchildren Ava, Isabella, Lauren, Alexander, and Everett.
Surviving family includes, Dolores (Fred) Heezen, Pat (Dan) Gaffney, Mary (Dick) Malewiski, Carol Levenhagen, Kate (Mike) Helgeson, Larry (Lisa) Thompson, and Michael (Janice) Thompson. Extended family members who held a special place in Bobby’s life include Gene, Bonnie, Elaine, Bruce, Bernice, Jerry, BG, Jasen and Justin.
He was preceded in death by his father Alois W. Kozlovsky, mother Gertrude (Sipiorski)Thompson, stepfather Bernard Thompson, and brother Joe Thompson.
The family would also like to extend heartfelt thank you’s to Ashley with Unity Hospice, the medical team at the UW Carbone Cancer Center in Madison along with transplant team and the wonderfully supportive team at St. Vincent Oncology.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, WI, Sunday, April 7, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A Prayer service will follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice or a Veteran Support initiative are appreciated. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting with the funeral arrangements.
