Robert Ervin Splitgerber

April 27, 1938 — January 6, 2022

Robert Splitgerber, age 83, a lifelong resident of Green Bay and DePere, WI, passed away after an extended illness, on January 6, 2022, at Rennes Nursing Home in DePere. He was born to Ervin and Selma (Maas) Splitgerber on April 27, 1938 in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. After graduating from Green Bay East High School, Robert attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His career spanned 36 years at Proctor and Gamble in Green Bay, where he retired as a lab technician in 1997. Robert spent many years in service to his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He enjoyed skiing, golfing woodworking and home improvement projects. His love of travel took him extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico, with favorites being Mexico and Greece. He took considerable pride in his yard and perennial gardens. Other favorite pastimes included bird watching, hunting, collecting coins, stamps and wristwatches.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Splitgerber (DeMille); sons: Steven (Splitgerber) DeMille (Richard Rho) of Los Angeles, CA and David Splitgerber (Jean) of Waterford, WI; grandsons: Jason Splitgerber and Derek Splitgerber of Waterford, WI; brother: Wayne (Beverly) Splitgerber of DePere, WI; sister: Kathy (Jim) Poels of Green Bay, WI; nephew and niece: Matthew and Laura Poels.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Splitgerber and his mother Selma Splitgerber-Maas
He was loved and will be sadly missed.
Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Thursday, January 13, from 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Matt Faucett officiating. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
We want to thank Rennes Nursing Home for their outstanding care of Robert and Unity Hospice for their support the last several weeks of Robert’s life.
