Rita Nickels

Rita F. Nickels, 84, formerly of Denmark, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. She was born May 4, 1929 in the Town of Maple Grove, WI to the late Theodore and Rose (Rosik) Matuszewski. She married Clarence Nickels on October 15, 1949 in Green Bay. They resided in Milwaukee and raised their 7 children there until moving to Denmark in 1986. They were married for 58 years. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2008. She will be deeply missed by her children: Terence, Dennis (Janet), Susan (Len) Mueller, Cynthia (Bill) Heller, Jean Ann Nickels-Durkee, Timothy, Jayne (Jim Kleczka) Camarillo; grandchildren: Paul, James (Shante), Ted, Todd, Tamatha (Kevin), Mike (Carrie), Stacy, Matthew, Katrina (Adam), Shawn, Vanessa, and Geoff; great great grandchildren: Jade, Brooke, Kai, Kess, Ryla, Ayvah, Trinity, Katie, Kaden, Cheyanne, Theresa, Kyle, Hailey, Bradley, Jolene, Jameer, Jennavive, Shay, and Ethan; brothers: Myron, Ron (Shari) Matuszewski; sisters: Virginia Majeski, Sandy (Steve) Oge; sister-in-law, Pat Matuszewski; brother-in-law, Don Nickel; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Keith Nickels; brothers: Norbert, John, Ted Matuszewski; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Nickels, Dr. Henry Majeski; sisters-in-law, Norma Maturszewski, and Marian Nickel. Visitation will be February 4, 2014 from 9-11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 3425 Willow Road, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Rhyner, officiating and Deacon Bill Burkel assisting. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Pine Grove. Cotter Funeral Home, Denmark is serving the Nickels family.
