Richard Gerard Bradley, born July 17, 1952, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and deep roots in Wisconsin’s farming community.
A proud graduate of Denmark High School, Richard devoted his life to agriculture and to the land his family had cared for across generations. He took over the Bradley family dairy farm, becoming the sixth generation to carry on its legacy. In addition to dairy farming, Richard expanded his work to include grain and vegetable farming, further demonstrating his commitment to feeding his community and sustaining the family farm.
Richard’s lifelong dedication to farming was recognized in 1988, when he was honored as one of three Brown County farmers in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Bradley Farmstead—a testament to both the endurance of the family farm and his stewardship of it.
Beyond farming, Richard was deeply involved in his community. He drove school bus for the Denmark School District, where he formed lasting relationships with the children he transported. Though he had no children of his own, he cared deeply for those students and treated them as if they were his own. He also worked in field operations for Hartung, contributing his skills and work ethic to the broader agricultural industry.
Richard’s commitment to service extended to local government, where he served as a Supervisor on the Town of New Denmark board. He was also a proud member of the Denmark FFA Alumni, maintaining strong ties to agricultural education and mentorship.
Known for his friendly nature and warm personality, Richard had many friends and was very well liked. He enjoyed his coffee clutches and treasured time spent over breakfast and lunch with his buddies, sharing stories, laughter, and companionship.
He is survived by his brother Frank and Shirley Bradley and their sons Paul, Scott, Mark, and Gary; his sister Catherine Bradley and her daughter Linda; his brother Dennis and Carol Bradley and their daughter Tina and son Brian; and Arlyn and Diane Bradley and their sons Phillip and Nick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Angeline Bradley; his brother Darrell; and his niece, Lisa.
Richard will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his quiet strength, and his genuine care for others. His life’s work will live on in the land he nurtured, the traditions he upheld, and the many lives he touched. His legacy will live on through his nephew/niece Brian & Jolene Bradley and their sons, Kolton, Kody, Kase.
