Richard (Dick) J Douville, age 88, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Dick was born to the late Leona (Clebowski) and Howard Douville on August 6, 1936. Dick married Mary Carol Riedi on May 14, 1960, at St. Francis Church in De Pere and enjoyed 64 years of marriage.
Dick graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1954, receiving many prestigious awards in track, basketball and football. Dick proudly served his country as a Marine, stationed in Hawaii for 3 years. After leaving the military, he attended St. Norbert College, where he met Mary, the love of his life, at a party. The couple raised their four daughters in Allouez. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dick built a fulfilling career as an internal auditor and several other positions for Wisconsin Public Service, where he worked for 34 years before retiring.
Never one to slow down, he spent an additional 15 years working with his daughter Lynn as a part-time courier for The Karma Group before embracing full retirement.
Even during his career at WPS and raising four daughters, his love for sports continued. He became a standout left-handed pitcher in Triple AAA softball. Dick’s passion for athletics extended beyond the softball field—he enjoyed riding his Arctic Cat snowmobile with his friends; they called their weekends snowmobiling “tiger hunts”; however, no shots were fired, just shots from the bar and killed were plenty of cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon. However, Dick did spend many years in the woods deer hunting with his father and family. But we’re all unsure if his rifle ever came out of the case. Dick also played basketball and was a lifelong member of the YMCA. He later became a dedicated member of Northbrook Country Club, where he relished countless rounds of golf and championship wins. A true competitor, he also played league bowling with his wife, Mary, for many years until health challenges made it no longer possible. Dick’s life was defined by his vibrant spirit, dedication to his family, and his love of sports and camaraderie. He was a lifelong Packers, Bucks, and Brewers fan, always coaching from his rocker in the den, using some colorful words along the way.
Dick could not have been more proud of his daughters and he wanted everyone to know about all four girls. He was not just delighted by what they accomplished but for who they all became. Dick’s daughters all owned his heart, and he’s smiling down, knowing the incredible individuals they’ve become.
Dick will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary; their four daughters; Laurie Douville, Lynn Douville, Debbie Clement, and Kathie (Brian) Saharsky, their 9 grandchildren; Taylor (Ella) Molzahn, Maria Molzahn, Kenzie (Joey Voigt) Molzahn, Connor Schunke, Carson Schunke, Aaron Everson, Justin Everson, Mason Saharsky and Anna Saharsky, their seven great-grandchildren; Samantha, Travis, Cassidy and Hendrix Molzahn, Tyson Everson, Joseph Arthur, Jr. (Arty) and Juliet Voigt. Dick is further survived by his sisters Barbara (Wayne) Hintz, and Virginia (Lyle) Wickman, brother James (Gail) Douville, brother-in-law Joe Murphy, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, sister Kathy Murphy, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joan and Ralph Gilson, nephew Mike Gilson, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Linda Riedi.
A private celebration of Dick’s life was held on January 17, 2025, at Cotter Funeral Home in De Pere. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests direct donations and other memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin (https://www.alz.org/wi)

Dear Dad and Grandpa, be a guide to the spirits as you were a guide to us during your life. We will miss you forever, but you are finally resting peacefully.
