Richard "Dick" Verbeten

Richard Peter (Dick) Verbeten, 82, died July 3, 2016 in Winter Garden, FL. He fought a long battle with a Degenerative Vascular disease. He retired from Isleworth Golf and Country Club, in Windermere, FL, where he worked as a Golf Course Superintendent for Mr. Arnold Palmer. Dick was a treasure to his family and to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Vanderheiden Verbeten; son, Mark (Jean); daughter, Vicki (Jeff) Strenski; son, Gregg (Chris); daughter, Susan (Tracy) and son, John (Pam), all residing in WI; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; also one sister, Gretchen Hornung Price of Fond du Lac. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Susan Verbeten; sister, Rosanne Van Ryzin; brother, Francis Verbeten and sister, Julienne Rusch. Family and friends may visit at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church-Humboldt, 5930 Humboldt Rd., Luxemburg, from 9:30-10:45AM Friday, July 15, 2016.
