Richard “Dick” Lax, age 83 of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Green Bay on March 21, 1937 to the late Joseph and Helen (Karcz) Lax. Dick graduated from St. Norbert College and was a recipient of the Golden Knights award. He was a man of faith and loved his family. He enjoyed sharing his history knowledge, especially of WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War, as an Army veteran, he had some insight. Dick also enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was tending the flower garden or the vegetable garden or out hunting, fishing and trapping, he enjoyed it all. He worked for Land O’Lakes for 37years and after retirement helped out at the Christian Outreach Food Pantry until he wasn’t physically able to. He also enjoyed visiting the Redwood Inn, where some of his favorite people were. Dick will be missed by his family and friends and his beloved dog, Buckley.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda, his children; Lori (Tim), Debbie (Dale), Sherry (Mike), Kory (Kelli), Jay (Tracie) and Scott, stepchildren; Gina (Gerry) and Brad (Julie), 13 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may gather beginning at 10:00am, Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Shrine of The Good Shepherd Chapel, 2770 Bay Settlement Road, Green Bay, until 11;45am, with a prayer service to follow at 12:00noon.
