Peter Andrew Nackers, age 72, of De Pere, passed away on February 24, 2024, at Jack & Engrid Meng Hospice Residence. He was born May 31, 1951, to the late Adolph and Fern (Nelson) Nackers in Green Bay, WI. He married the love of his life Diane (Kugel) Nackers on October 1, 1994, at old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Peter had many interests throughout his life, including a great love of music – which led to him playing bass guitar in several local bands. He also enjoyed fishing, golf, traveling, and watching sports, such as the Packers, the Brewers, and Green Bay and St. Norbert’s basketball games. Peter had a pilot license, allowing him to enjoy flying as well.
Peter is survived by his wife Diane; brothers Paul Nackers and Jim (Jenny) Nackers; brothers and sisters-in-law Jim (Bonnie) Kugel, Janice Stodola, Michael Kugel, and Robert Kugel; nieces and nephews Tina (Gary) Hyska, Drew (Carrianne) Nackers, Stacy (Kevin) Lampe, Robyn Hallet, and Kyle Stodola; and great-nieces and nephews Colleen, Amelia, Austin, Ally (Justin), Katie (Will), Michael, and Madelyn.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Paul Nackers, Jr., his father-in-law and mother-in-law Alvin and Anna Kugel, sister-in-law Mary Kugel, and brother-in-law Wayne Stodola.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 4:00-7:00pm at Cotter Funeral Home at 860 N Webster Ave in De Pere, with a memorial service to take place at 7:00pm. Burial will take place in Saint Therese Parish Cemetery in Pilsen.
Peter’s family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Bellin Hospital, the staff of Jack & Engrid Meng Hospice Residence, and Fr. Mike Ingold for their support and care of Peter.
