Patrick D. Goffard

Patrick D. Goffard, 66, of Bellevue passed away Thursday February 17, 2022, at a local hospital with his wife by his side.

Born in Wrightstown April 12, 1955, to the late Cletus and Wilhelmina (Linders) Goffard grew up in Gillett, WI graduating the class of 1973 from Gillett High School. Pat had a love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, he worked at Fort Howard paper mill until his spinal cord injury as result from falling from a tree stand bow and arrow hunting in 1990. Even after more than 30 years living as a quadriplegic, he always remained positive, kind, giving, patient, with a great sense of humor. Friends and family referred to him as a “light”. Pat married the love of his life Marsha Smits in 1993, enjoying camping in accessible cabins in Wisconsin’s State parks, so they could continue to enjoy nature and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife Marsha, brothers; William (Olinda) Goffard, Carol Bagley, James (Janice) Goffard, Kenneth Goffard, Diane (Michael) Mitten, Martin (Stana) Goffard, Kathleen (John) McDonald, Gerald (Adele Lee) Goffard, Veronica (Joseph) Kleiber, Raphael (Barbara) Goffard. Also survived by Marsha’s family; Ginny Just, Randy (Ann) Smits, Sally (Martin) Ozinga, Roger (Mary) Smits, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Cletus Goffard Jr., Clement Goffard, brother-in-law Allan Bagley, Marsha’s parents, Merlin and Genevieve Smits, and brother-in-law Gary Just.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Pat’s name.

A Memorial Service has been planned for Saturday April 9, 2022 at Spring Lake Church (2240 Klondike Rd. Green Bay) with visitation from 9am to 11am, with a Service at 11am.
