Patricia "Patty" Vogels

Patricia Joanne (Baumgart) Vogels, 73, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 7, 2025.

Patty was born to the late Timothy and Margaret (Stengel) Baumgart on December 11, 1951 in Green Bay, WI. She was a 1970 graduate of De Pere High School.

Patty was a caring and gentle soul who embraced her role as grandmother with the same loving kindness and generosity which she showed all her life. Patty was happiest when she was taking care of her family, whether baking cookies and cooking for them, sending care packages, dog sitting or her favorite- taking care of Ruthie and Tommy. Patty enjoyed many activities throughout her life including her Saturday night bowling league, hosting family gatherings, playing cards and board games while enjoying a few cocktails. In addition to chocolate, she loved murder mysteries, reading, and of course, watching her beloved Milwaukee Brewers. Patty’s selflessness and sense of humor will be missed and carried on by her family and all who knew her.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Tim and Marge Baumgart, brother John Baumgart, and brother-in-law Paul DeCoster..

Patty is survived by her children, Ben (Tonya) Vogels, Manitowoc, Jenny Vogels, Helena, MT, and Jon (Jamie) Vogels, and their children Ruthanna and Thomas, Green Bay; siblings Margaret DeCoster, Timothy Baumgart, Dorothy Baumgart, Mary (Bruce) VanStraten, sister-in-law Joan Baumgart, niece Clare (Ashley) Baumgart and nephew Ian Baumgart, as well as extended family and many friends.

A celebration of her life gathering will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13th at Cotter Funeral Home, 840 N Webster Ave, De Pere. The family asks all to wear their favorite Brewers apparel in celebration of Patty’s love for the team. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Brewers Community Foundation.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sauer, Dr. Raziq, and the amazing ICU nursing staff at St. Vincent Hospital for making Patty and her family as comfortable as possible in her last days. In her words, you were a “saint”.
