Patricia "Patty" Relich

December 4, 1939 — August 12, 2023

Patricia (Patty) Ann Relich, 83, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away after a brief illness on August 12, 2023 at The Courtyard At Bellevue in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Patty was born at home in Ironwood, Michigan on December 4, 1939, to Benjamin F. and Erma M. (Colasacco) Kimball. She attended elementary school in Detroit and Ironwood, Michigan, and graduated from Ironwood’s St. Ambrose High School in 1957. On July 30, 1960, she married the love of her life, James N. (Jimmy) Relich, and they spent 60 happy years together before his passing in 2020. They raised three children (James (Patrick), Tony and Cheryl) and lived for a short time in Delaware, Marquette, Wausau, and Kentucky but spent most of their lives in Green Bay.

Patty attended classes at UWGB and then worked for 15 years at NWTC. While living in Kentucky, she served as the administrative assistant to the Chief Clerk for the Kentucky House of Representatives and was named an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. She ended her working career as an Administrative Assistant to the VP of Enzymatic Therapy. After retirement, she and Jimmy enjoyed wintering in Florida and Arizona and traveling to different parts of the US.

Patty raised her beautiful children in the neighborhood fondly called “Peaceful Valley”. She had many special memories of skiing, golfing, sailing, camping, and gatherings with the “Peaceful Valley” families that remain close friends to this day. Patty also enjoyed dance club and 50+ years with her card club friends, but her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. A very special time for the entire family was her delicious homemade pasta dinner every Christmas that included her homemade sauce, ravioli, gnocchi and noodles . A tradition her family will always talk about.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Olivia DeMeuse and brother Robert Kimball. Survived by sons Patrick (Dawn Guetschow) Relich and Tony (Beth) Relich and daughter Cheryl (Randy) DeMeuse, grandchildren Edward, Steven (Lauren) and Nicholas Relich, Miranda and Adam Relich, Whitney and Stella DeMeuse, great-grandchildren Thea Olivia and Brooks James Relich, sisters Lynn (Dick) Thompson, Debbie (Dan) Smith, Karen (Jeff) Begalle, brother- in-law Steve (Joanne) Relich, sister-in-laws Geri Ann (David) Driggers , Claudette (Tim) Schaad, Mary Ann Kimball and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to express its appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at The Courtyard at Bellevue many who treated her as family and AseraCare Hospice who were so kind and helpful in her last months.

Patty will be deeply missed and remembered for her devotion to family, her kindness, and her concern for others. She always saw the best in others and put them ahead of herself.
