Patricia "Pat" Van Veghel

Patricia R. (Klug) Van Veghel, 83, De Pere, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010. She was born August 22, 1926 to the late Albert and Irene (Frisque) Klug in Green Bay. On October 4, 1947 Pat married Peter Van Veghel, they enjoyed more than 48 years together before Pete passed away on March 2, 1996. Gramma was a proud owner of Paluka’s Pub Grill and Van Veghel’s Real Estate and Auction Service Inc. She will be remembered for her soups of the day. Pat liked serving a beer or mixer and socializing with the patrons. Pat is survived by her 4 children: John (Diane) Van Veghel, De Pere; Dave (Cindy) Van Veghel, De Pere; Carol (special friend, Donn Kubnick)Van Veghel, De Pere; and Andy (Jenine) Van Veghel, Kaukauna; grandchildren, Katie (Chris) Gschwender, Abby Van Veghel, Tyler (Candace) Van Veghel, Tiffany (Mike) Agnew, Amber Van Veghel, Teale (Cameron) O’Connell, and Kayla and Abbie De Groot; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Pierson, Ethan, and Aleya; special cousin, Lois Oberer; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents; and brother, Richard (Lorraine) Klug. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 4p.m. until 7:30p.m. Parish prayer service at 7:30p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere from 9:30a.m. until 10:15a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at the church at 10:30a.m. with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Due to the passing of our mother, Patricia, the Van Veghel weekly Wednesday auction will be cancelled. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
