Pat Detaege

Pat (Belongia) Detaege, age 87, of Allouez, passed away July 8, 2023. The daughter of the late Wilton and Lucille (Heroux) Belongia was born February 27, 1936 in Oconto. She married Ray Detaege on June 7, 1958 at St. Peter’s in Oconto and they were married for 60 years before Ray passed away in 2017. Pat earned degrees from UW-Marinette, UW-Oshkosh, and St. Norbert College. She was employed as a Junior High School teacher in Oconto and later Green Bay, in addition to being the Director of Religion for the Green Bay Catholic Diocese. Pat was the President of the Religious Teacher’s. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling and had taken a beautiful trip to Alaska for 2 weeks. She and Ray were long-time members of Resurrection Catholic Church in Allouez.

Survivors include her daughter, Becki; brothers-in-law Roger Vandenack and Bernard Detaege; sister-in-law Rita Debauche, as well as nieces and nephews and a special friend Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; parents, Wilton and Lucille; and a sister Helen Vandenack.

Family and friends may visit at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, on Thursday, July 13, from 10:30am until the time of Mass at 11:00am with Fr. Tom Reynebeau officiating. Private burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
