Norman Koelbl passed away on September 27, 2024 at the age of 96.
Norm was born on Feb 24, 1928 in Oshkosh, Wis. To Louis and Rose Koelbl. He married Mary Yost on Feb 7, 1953 at St Mary Church In Winneconne, Wis. They were blessed with three children. They Celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. Norm worked for WFRV-TV for 40 years and retired as Chief Engineer. Norm held a First Class broadcast operators license and an advanced amateur radio Operators license. Norm loved working with his hands. He built the Home in which they raised their family. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working on his computer. It was always his pleasure to help his Children with their homes and projects. His family enjoyed the annual Trip to Northern Wisconsin in the summer for fishing and vacationing.
Norm enjoyed the frequent card games with his neighbor friends which took place for many years. Norm was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was active in St. Francis Parish in DePere And was Trustee (Secretary) for several years and was Eucharistic Minister for many years starting in 1973. He brought Eucharist and a Communion service weekly to patients at a local nursing home for many years. He delivered mobile meals from St. Vincent hospital after retirement for several years until the program was terminated.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Rose Koelbl, Brothers in Law Mark Ruedinger and Robert Kulibert.
He is survived by the love of his life his wife Mary and Children: Frank (Sue) Koelbl, James Koelbl and Mary E. Koelbl; Sisters: Dorothy Koelbl, Rosemary Kulibert and Cecilia Ruedinger; as well as Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Saturday, October 5, from 9:00am until 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Rev. Mike Ingold officiating. Private burial will be held in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
