Norbert W. Kussow, age 88, of De Pere passed away peacefully January 10, 2026, with his devoted wife of 56 years, Betty, by his side. Norb was born June 17, 1937, in Brown County, the son of the late Willard and Irene (Brandt) and Sophie (Rohloff) Kussow. Following graduation from West De Pere High School he served his country in the Army Reserves. He married Elizabeth Nettekoven on July 26, 1969, in Appleton, WI. He attended the farm short course in Madison and farmed on the family farm his entire life with his brother Ken. Norb and Ken installed one of the first milking parlors in Brown County which other local farmers would come to view. He was proud that his two sons continued his family legacy for a 5th generation.
Norb was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wrightstown, WI holding several positions including president. Norb loved a good laugh and was often the instigator behind it! He enjoyed a good game of cards, a round of golf, and gathering with family and friends, especially his long-time friends from the Cinderella group.
Norb is survived by his wife Betty, their children; Kevin, Rodney (Maria) Kussow, and Julane (Robert) Peterson, grandchildren; Jason (Megan), Victoria, Jonathan, and Nicole Meulemans; Caleb and Hope Peterson; Step-grandchildren; Kenny (Cassie) and Molly McDevitt. He is further survived by; great granddaughter Riley Meulemans, his siblings; Virgina Ehnerd, Bonnie Chambers, and Kathleen (James) Martin, his in-laws; Carol and Jean Kussow; Ronald, Rinnie, and Jean Nettekoven; Shirley Anderson, and Donna (Jim) Seidl; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Norb was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kristine, brothers; Kenneth and Roger Kussow; in-laws; Arnold and Irma Nettekoven, brothers and sisters-in-law; Glen Ehnerd, Robert, Donald (Caroline), Arnold, Mary Nettekoven, and Dave Anderson.
Family and friends may gather on Monday, January 19, 2026, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church 206 Plum Rd. in Wrightstown, from 9:00am until 11:30, with the funeral service to follow at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Norbert’s name can be made to St. John Building Fund.
