Nancy Carol Mitchell

June 28, 1941 — September 25, 2023

Nancy Carol Mitchell, 82, of Milwaukee, WI, Birmingham, AL, and Green Bay, WI, passed away peacefully on September 25th, 2023. She is survived by her two loving daughters: Terri Sipes and Julie Sai’d; six cherished grandchildren: Donald (Monica), Alyssa (Nick), Zachary, Isabella, Isaac, and Laila; and four devoted siblings: Ken (Shirley), Eileen, Judith, and Charles; many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held to celebrate her life, attended by close family and friends.


Nancy was born in Milwaukee, WI, to her adoring parents Esther and Raymond Megal, living her early years in picturesque Wild Rose, WI. From her earliest years, she exhibited a profound sense of compassion and a boundless love for her community, which would become hallmarks of her remarkable life.


Nancy was an accomplished person in many areas of her life. Professionally, Nancy worked in healthcare administration, notably the Preventative Medicine department and The 1917 AIDS Clinic at the University of Alabama/Birmingham. Nancy accomplished all of this through hard work and grit, eventually earning her Bachelor’s Degree at the age of 54, all while helping to raise her grandchildren.


Throughout her life, Nancy was an active and dedicated member of her church, where she found solace, strength, and a deep sense of purpose. Her unwavering faith was a guiding light that illuminated her path and inspired those around her. Nancy's commitment to her faith was unwavering, and she touched countless lives through her acts of kindness and service.


Nancy was also known for her exceptional talent in the realms of quilting, knitting and sewing. She was an integral part of various knitting and sewing guilds, where she shared her expertise, creativity, and warmth with fellow artisans. Her handcrafted creations were not only treasured by her loved ones but also became cherished gifts for friends and acquaintances lucky enough to receive them.


Nancy's journey through life was marked by her indomitable spirit and boundless generosity. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, always putting her family's needs and happiness above all else. Her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support were sources of strength for her children, grandchildren, and siblings.


Nancy Carol Mitchell's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and creativity will continue to inspire and guide us all.

Graveside services will be held on at 11:00 am on  Friday, April 12, 2024 at Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3801 W Morgan Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53221.
