Milton J. Mancosky, age 94, of De Pere, passed away on June 5, 2022. He was born in the Town of Morrison on June 23, 1927, the son of George and Margaret (Daley) Mancosky. Milton was a man of commitment to those things he valued in life. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to the Green Bay area and married LaVerne Stencil on August 2, 1952 at Annunciation Parish in Green Bay. They were married for 64 years. Milton worked for the Wisconsin Telephone Company and AT&T for 38 ½ years. Not a fan of idleness, he started his own business, Mancosky Services, and provided telecommunication services for many large area companies, including Schneider National, James River, Fort Howard, the Green Bay Packers, and St. Norbert College (where he had the pleasure of working with Kathy Ritter for over twenty-eight years). He was a lifelong member of the Telephone Pioneers. Milton was also a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere, where he served as an usher. Milton was also an usher for Packer games at City Field and was an original season ticket holder upon the completion of Lambeau Field, where he did not miss a home game until the age of 92.
Milt’s joy in life was his family. He is survived by six children and their families; Michael and Elizabeth Mancosky, Amanda (John) Cervantes, and Hannah; Mark and Priscilla Mancosky, Connor (Lynsey Lauderdale), Tesia, and Tait; Patricia and Steven Zach, Caitlin (Brandon) Rutz and their children Magnolia and August, Bridget (Brian) Finnel and their children Ellowyn and Gideon, and Maureen (Fred) Montero-Zach; Debra and Paul Novak, Aaron (fiancée Jessica Thomas), and Corey (Stephanie); John and Natalie Mancosky, Kirsten, and Austin; Michelle and Mark Nennig, Bryanna (Jeff) Racer, Marissa (fianceé Robby La Porta), and Courtney; sisters-in-law: Mary Jane Walton and Joyce Stencil; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Milton was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne; parents, George and Margaret; brother George and his wife Dolores; granddaughter Emma Mancosky; and nephew, Thomas Mancosky.
Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Saturday, June 18, from 9:00am until 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. Matt Faucett and Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank Milt’s Mayfair Street neighbors who watched over him the last several years and his breakfast partner, Claudia.
