Melvin A. Stangel, age 71, of Maribel, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center in Green Bay, WI.
He was born on December 31, 1953 in Two Rivers, WI, son of the late Melvin and Donna (Sosnosky) Stangel. On February 2, 1980, he married Nancy Sand in Manitowoc, WI.
Melvin was a farmer in Tisch Mills, WI, then a bar owner for Flip Side in Cooperstown, WI. He then started Stangel Trucking in Cooperstown, WI. He enjoyed playing cards and hunting, but what was most important to him was spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy; one daughter Lisa (William) Loberger and their children Maxamillion (Morgan) Loberger and their children Evangeline Lu, Easton and Forrest Rose, Alexander (Katelyn) Loberger and their children Leo, Lily and Lyle will be here soon; one son Doug (Cheryl) Schreiber and Doug’s children Daltyn (Nichole) Le Clair and their children Evalynn and Arianna and Jayce Bradford; one brother John (Wendy) Stangel; one sister-in-law Lila Stangel.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Ron Stangel; father and mother-in-law Raymond (Luella) Sand; sisters-in-law Mary Sand and Judith (Gary) Delaurelle.
Friends and family may gather on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 10:00 am until the memorial service 2:00 pm at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Road R, Denmark, WI 54208.
