Mary G. Koelbl

Mary G. Koelbl passed away on September 24, 2025 at the age of 94. Mary was born in the town of Winneconne to the late Frank and Anna Lawall Yost on April 21, 1931. She married Norman J. Koelbl on February 7, 1953 at St. Mary Church in Winneconne, Wisconsin.

Mary and Norm celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary in 2024 prior to his passing in September of 2024. Mary is a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere and belonged to the Altar Rosary Society, sang in the Resurrection Choir for funerals at both St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and St. Mary Catholic Church and worked at funeral dinners. Mary also sang in the adult choir at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Mary delivered mobile meals from St. Vincent Hospital with her partner Pat Ley for over 35 years. Mary loved the yearly family vacation up north in the summer for fishing and relaxing on the lake. She enjoyed watching birds and flower gardening. She loved being Norm's wife!

Mary and Norm were blessed with three children, Frank – Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, James -De Pere, Wisconsin, and Mary E. Koelbl - Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is survived by these children and daughter in law Susan Koelbl, wife of Frank, sister-in-law Rita Yost, Oshkosh, Norm’s sisters - Dorothy, Rose Mary, and Cecilia, and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Anna Yost, five brothers - Paul (Eileen), George (Alice), Edward, Carl, Frank Jr. (Joyce), two sisters - Josephine, Clara, and brothers-in law Harold Wegner, Robert Kulibert, and Mark Ruedinger.

Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Saturday, October 4, from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Rev. Jason Blahnik officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
