In loving memory, we honor the life of Mary Jane Rozek (Mazanet) who entered into peace with her family by her side on Monday, January 10, 2022. Mary Jane was born October 16, 1936 to Joseph and Alice (Konop) Mazanet. She grew up on a farm in Stangelville and attended Woodland, a one room school. She was a 1954 Kewaunee High School graduate. Mary Jane met her husband Carl Rozek at Suster’s Dance Hall and they were married December 27, 1958 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Stangelville. She joyfully brought three children into the world during their early years of marriage and was a foster mother to several children in the 1960s.
Throughout her life Mary Jane inspired others through her spiritual strength and devotion to her family. She was an incredibly loving and compassionate woman who had a way of making everyone feel loved. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She worked at Mirro Aluminum for many years in the office and factory. Upon retirement Mary Jane enjoyed going out to lunch with her cousins and former coworkers. Christmas was Mary Jane’s favorite holiday. She enjoyed baking and decorating cut-out cookies and baking methunky. She also liked playing bingo and cards with her family. She enjoyed listening to soft music, but more than that she loved hearing her young great-grandchildren play their “original” tunes on her piano.
Mary Jane is survived by her spouse Carl Rozek; children Kay (Dan) Minesal, Dave (Karen) Rozek and Dan (Carol) Rozek; grandchildren Andy (Tiffany) Rozek, Kelly (Jarred) Huiras, John Rozek (Michelle Young), Craig (Julie) Rozek, Jessica (Tom) Blake, Sam (Erika) Minesal, Mihaela Minesal; great-grandchildren Trevor James, Mason, Carter, Ellie, Nora, Matthew, Colten, Quinn, Gloria and a new baby coming in July; and brother Don (Pat) Mazanet.
Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Alice (Konop) Mazanet and her brother Gary Mazanet.
