Heaven is a great place and heaven gained Mary Ann Hager as another angel on November 25, 2020.
Born on January 28, 1943, Mary Ann was the youngest daughter of Nicholas (Nick) and Anna Glaser of Luxemburg, WI. She was the youngest sister of Lila, Helen, Gladys and Arlene. Mary Ann married John (Jack) Hager on April 20, 1963. They had two daughters, Lori Hager and Suzanne (late David) Koch and one granddaughter Taylor Koch.
In Mary Ann’s younger years, she enjoyed going ‘coon hunting with her Dad and his hunting dog. They lived across from the Rendezvous where she enjoyed bowling and going to dances. When she graduated from high school, she worked in a nursing home before she became a mother. She volunteered as a Brownie leader and at church for funerals. Mary Ann enjoyed bowling with John and playing dartball with her girlfriends. A highlighted tradition she always looked forward to was going out for everyone’s birthday dinner with a group of couples.
Mary Ann truly enjoyed life through simple pleasures like chatting with friends and family, hearing about her granddaughter Taylor’s activities, cheering on the Packer’s and listening to her oldies station. She had the ability to talk with anyone and everyone and made people feel special, loved and cared for. If you were a friend of hers, you were a friend for life. Mary Ann was a great hugger with a great laugh and smile. Her faith and strength carried her through her days. Many described her as genuine, outgoing, kind and compassionate. She touched many lives and will be missed dearly.
Mary Ann is survived by her immediate family and her sister Gladys Guillette who resides in Sheboygan.
The family would like to thank Unity Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Mary Ann and our family in her final days. We are forever grateful for the peace and comfort.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
