Mary Ann Devroy, age 80
Our angel here on earth, went home to be with our heavenly Father on Saturday June 19, 2021.
Mary Ann was born November 2, 1940 to the late Sylvester and Mabel (Vanden Avond) O’Leary. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1958. On October 28, 1959, she married the love of her life, Clifford Devroy. Although they later divorced, they remained best friends. Mary Ann loved to cook, go to ball games, counting money for church and knitting and crocheting towels, scrubbies and wash cloths that many people used and enjoyed. Mary Ann took much pride in her Irish heritage, but never quit achieve her dream of visiting Ireland with the family. Mary Ann’s love of life was family and being together no matter what the occasion was. Most of the time they were made up Holidays just so we all could get together. Mary Ann was more than a Mother to her children; she was a Mother to all of their friends. She treated everyone as if they were her own.
Mary Ann worked for Montgomery Wards as a gift wrapper during the Holiday season. She sold Stanley Home Products for many years, but her greatest job was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children: Sally Thomson, Jeffery Devroy, Steven (Lisa) Devroy, Daniel (Jeannine) Devroy and Sue (Chad) Anglemyer. Her Grandchildren: Jesse Thomson, Todd Thomson, Brooke Thomson, Ali (Adam) Busalacchi, Brandon Thomson, Katie Devroy, Mike Devroy, Logan Devroy, Marlee Devroy, Aaron Devroy and Austin Devroy. Her Great Grandchildren: Siena, Aviana and Ellina Busalacchi. Her Siblings: Syliva (Bob) Pott, Robert (Cathy) O’Leary, Mike (Alice) O’Leary, Tom (Kathy) O’Leary, Dan (Mary Joan) O’Leary and Pat O’Leary and significant other Mary Edmondson. Her Brothers-in-law James Devroy and Adris Bellin, Alan (Rita) Devroy. Her Sister-in-law Pat (Rick) Pagel as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her Son Todd Devroy, her parents, her Mother and Father-In-Law Clarence and Florence Devroy, Sister and Brother-in-law Claire and Edward Steinberger, Sister-in-law Judy Devroy and Nephew Brian O’Leary.
Family and friends may gather at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview (De Pere), on Thursday June 24, 2021 beginning at 9:00am until 10:45am, the service will follow at 11:00am, Father Matt Faucett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the doctors and nursing staff who worked with their Mom over the years.
