Marty Christensen, age 55, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Marty, the youngest of four boys, was born on June 10, 1970, to Marlene (McHugh) and Marvin Christensen and grew up in Suamico, WI. As a child, Marty enjoyed spending time in the woodshop with his dad, fishing with his dad and brothers, camping every summer, and playing football. He graduated from Bay Port High School in 1988 and went on to attend NWTC, earning an associate degree in accounting in 1991.
Marty met Nancy Pelishek at Amplas in 1993, and on Friday, October 13, 1995, they were married in Hawaii. Marty and Nancy settled in Denmark, WI, where they raised twin sons, Taylor and Austin. Over the years, Marty worked at Enzymatic Therapy and Modern Plastics, and most recently retired from Dental City. While he was proud of his professional accomplishments, Marty took the greatest pride in his life outside of work.
He loved spending time with his family and pursuing his many hobbies - including spending time with his children, working on his Jeep, woodworking, kayaking, boating, cooking on his smoker, tending to his yard and garden, caring for his pets, attending Packer games, helping others with projects, and being outdoors. Marty and Nancy enjoyed gardening together, exploring supper clubs across Wisconsin, traveling to new destinations, and most of all, spoiling and spending time with their granddaughter, Lily.
Marty is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy; their children, Taylor (Hailey Roszak) and Austin Christensen; and his granddaughter, Lily. He is also survived by his mother, Marlene of Green Bay; siblings Michael and Pat Christensen of Clarksville, Tennessee, Mark and Paula Christensen of Suamico, and Merlin Christensen of Green Bay; brothers-in-law Randy Pelishek (Denmark) and Rick Pelishek (Two Rivers); uncles Clayton McHugh (Shawano) and Norman “Buzz” Christensen (Pulcifer); goddaughter Marissa (Nathan) Heim (Green Bay); and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Marty was preceded in death by his father, Marvin, and his mother-in-law, Lillian Pelishek.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Rd R, Denmark, WI 54208. A service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Chaz Pelky officiating.
