Marlene Cornette

October 10, 1937 — February 2, 2024

Marlene Marie (Raether) Cornette, age 86, of Wrightstown, passed away February 2, 2024. The daughter of the late Elmer and Marie (Pagel) Raether was born October 10, 1937. She attended St. Paul School through 8th grade and later graduated from Algoma High School in 1955. On May 25, 1957, she married Milt Cornette at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay, and they shared over 66 years of marriage. Together, she and Milt founded Cornette Farm Supply in 1965. Marlene was a charter member of the EZ Riders Snowmobile Club and enjoyed watching and sponsoring baseball, softball and bowling teams for Cornette Farm Supply. She loved to attend many County Fair animal auctions with Milt. Her family was very important to her, and she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, especially their annual trip to Eagle River. She earned the nickname “Grandma Kodak” from her grandchildren for the many pictures she took while never missing an important event of theirs. She and Milt were members of St. Clare (St. Mary Site) Parish in Greenleaf since 1964.


Marlene is survived by her husband, Milt; children: Mike (Denise Nemetz), Mark (Lois), Jeff (Lora) and Shelly (Bill) Farrell; grandchildren: Danielle (Matt) Van Camp, Jamie (Terry) Petersen, Loryn (Ross) Wiese, Courtney (Cody) Kane, Melanie (Mike) Tomlinson, Sabrina (Brandon) Schroeder, Liam Farrell, Ryan (BZ) Farrell, McKenzie (Alex) Rosenquist, Breana Farrell (special friend Clay Olson); great-grandchildren: Kaeden, Jordy and Cora Van Camp; Narelle and Monroe Petersen; Murphy and Presley Wiese; Cashton, Cason and Cooper Kane; Myles and Mya Tomlinson; Kaden Schroeder; Sully, Sloane and Imogen Farrell; siblings: Karen (Jerry) Schuster, Don “Charlie” Raether, Steve (Loie) Raether; sisters-in-law: Colleen Cornette and Donna (Dale) Marsh; nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchildren: Tyler and Tiffany Cornette; daughter-in-law Connie Cornette; Milt’s parents: Joe and Amanda Cornette; Milt’s siblings: Dick Cornette, Don (Dolores) Cornette and Mary (Don) Beamer.


Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Wednesday, February 7, from 3-7pm. Visitation will continue Thursday at St. Clare Parish-St. Mary Site, 2218 Day Street, Greenleaf, from 9:00am until 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Brian Wideman officiating and Fr. Bob Kabat as homilist. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum.
