Mark Allen Dorvinen, age 60, of Green Bay, WI, passed away on December 10, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1965 in Milwaukee to the late Lawrence and Elaine (Alsteen) Dorvinen. On August 3, 1991, he married Luann (Kempen) and together they have one son, Samuel Joseph Dorvinen.
Mark was a true adventurer at heart. An avid skier—both on water and snow—he loved the thrill of the slopes and the summer fun of waterskiing. He played rugby and was a proud member of the UWGB Cheer Squad. Mark is an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. He instilled a love for the outdoors in countless young people as a Den Leader, Assistant Scout Master and as District Director with the Boy Scouts of America Bay-Lakes Council.
Professionally, Mark was a Vice President, Wealth Management Advisor and Senior Portfolio Advisor at Merrill Lynch. He was also an active member of the Rotary Club of West Green Bay, the UWGB Alumni Association, St. Matthew Church Knights of Columbus (Fr. Allouez Council) & Men’s Club, Ducks Unlimited and qualified as an NRA Expert Marksman. Mark co-chaired and co-founded the BSA Sporting Clay Charity Event, working tirelessly to bring folks together for a good cause.Mark’s warmth, humor, and ability to connect with people made every gathering brighter. He loved to travel, enjoyed boating and golf, and had a special place in his heart for live music, often attending concerts with family and friends. His favorite performances to watch were Luann’s professional band performances as well as church choir and cantoring. His spirited political conversations were always lively and engaging, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Luann; son Samuel; siblings: Steven (Mary) Dorvinen and Michael (Kari) Dorvinen; half-sister Lori Hessoun; Luann’s siblings: Patrick (Barbara) Kempen, Mark (Christine) Kempen, Jacob Kempen, Joann Pechacek, Myron (Linda) Kempen, Byron (Ida) Kempen, Arthur Kempen, Luke (Rhonda) Kempen, Carla Kempen, Janel (Loren) West, Tilla (David) Paral; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his half-siblings: Lynn (John) Tarantino and Lawrence Dorvinen, Jr; half-brother-in-law Tim Hessoun; Luann’s parents Joseph and Alice Kempen and siblings: Bardeana Kempen and Mary Margaret Kempen.
Family and friends may visit at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews Street, Green Bay, on Friday, December 19, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will follow mass in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
