Marjorie "Marge" M. Frase

Marge Frase, born in Antigo 96 years ago to an Irish mother and German father, passed away on September 26, 2026, after a life marked by dedication to family, education, and faith. As the eldest child, she experienced the challenges of the Great Depression, learning resilience and the value of education from her parents. Marge's early love for learning and music shaped her path; she played violin, sang in choirs, and was deeply involved in church life.

After earning her teaching degree from UW-Stevens Point, Marge began her career in education, teaching in small towns and starting drama programs for her students. She married Doug, a carpenter, and together they raised seven children. Marge devoted herself to her family, ensuring her children were grounded and successful, while also becoming a pillar in every community she joined.

When her children were older, Marge returned to work, managing an elderly apartment complex and later dedicating over three decades to religious education as a Director of Religious Education in multiple parishes. Her leadership and commitment left a lasting impact on Catholic education, mentoring others and advancing faith-based programs. Even after facing professional setbacks late in her career, Marge remained respected and cherished by many clergy and community members.

She is survived by her children; Patrick Frase, Michael (Cyndee) Frase, Tom (Susan) Frase, Mary (Jay) Throne, Susan Fuller, Ann (Tom) Meyer and Dan (Margie) Frase, 13 grandchildren; Nick, Clarissa, Emalee, Caitlin, Adam, Jeremy, Jason, Andrea, Andrew, Zach, David, Kristina, and McKayla, thirteen great grandchildren, with three more on the way in 2026; and sister-in-law Lynn Greisinger as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and godson David Nelson.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Doug, grandsons, Aaron Frase and Joshua Meyer. Marge is further preceded by her brothers Tim (Nancy) Greisinger, Ray Greisinger and sister Alene (Clifford) Nelson.

Marge is remembered for her warmth, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her legacy lives on in her children, the many students and parishioners she inspired, and the communities she helped shape.

Family and friends may visit at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S Oneida Street, Green Bay, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Matt Simonar officiating. Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Green Bay.
