Marian Louise Rhodes

Marian Louise Rhodes, age 87, of Denmark, passed away January 15, 2023 at her home. The daughter of the late Frank and Effa (Schoch) Cowdin was born April 29, 1935 in Oxford, MI. On November 6, 1954, she married Elmer Rhodes in Lake Orion, MI. She was an active member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Denmark. Marian was a member of a homemakers group, and enjoyed being in a card club with her friends for over 50 years. She worked for a home health agency after raising her children.

Marian is survived by her children, Denise (Craig) Rhodes, Debby (Dan) Arndt, Mike (Wendy), Keith (Barb), and Diane (Dale) Wierschke; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Clarence), David, Katie, Mary (Alex), Maggie (Michael), Amanda (Derek), Erin (Pat), Sabiha, and Wil; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Logan, Aaron, Madisen, Hailey, Flint, Martin, Michael, Angelo, and Aiden; sister Pauline Roellig; brothers-in-law: Karl and John (Kathy); and sister-in-law Charlotte Cowdin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; parents Frank and Effa; siblings: Lee, Margie, Dee, Joyce and Doug.

Family and friends may gather in Marian’s honor on Saturday June 24, 2023 at Zion United Methodist Church, 231 Chicago St., Denmark, from 9:00am to 10:45am with a memorial service at 11:00am. Interment immediately following the service in the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care of Denmark is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to organizations of the donor’s choice.
