Margaret J. Janssen

Our dear Mother, Margaret Joanne Janssen sadly passed away, October 28,2026, at the age of 96. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Leona (Guelig) Olejniczak. Beloved wife of Preston L. Janssen Jr.. Margaret was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. She was employed with Wisconsin Bell for many years. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, reading, crocheting, playing cards, and water aerobics. She did not enjoy shopping! Each Fall she would feel wanderlust and remember the days she and Dad would pack up their 5th Wheel and head to warmer regions to be among the Snowbirds. Some of her favorite things included: the song, God Bless America, Snicker’s Bar Ice Cream, and the site of a Northern Cardinal. When you see one, please think of her.

Margaret was a woman of faith and was a devout Catholic. She prayed the rosary daily. Her donations of prayer shawls will and have been worn by many. The sound of her grandchildren and great grandchildren laughing always brought a smile to her face. She was not only our mother, but a dear friend, advisor, and confidant to her children. She was a humble woman who cared deeply for and respected her family. Margaret was always sure to tell us how profoundly appreciative she was of her loving care.

Surviving Margaret are her children, Ray (MaryJo) Janssen, Julie (Jim) Misco, Glenn (MaryAnn) Janssen, Mary (Dan Eldridge) Janssen, Nancy (Jim) Van Vonderen, John (Jeanne Drake) Janssen, Ellen (Dan) Moore, and Barb (Kevin) Swanson. Proud grandmother of Aaron (Kim) Janssen, Neil (Jamie) Janssen, Stuart (Jess) Janssen, Sara (Eric) Southworth, Luke (Kate) Janssen, David Janssen, Whitney (Michael Mastalir) Van Vonderen, Joel (Kate) Van Vonderen, Nicholas (Autumn) Moore, Matthew Moore, Robert (Katie) Moore, Benjamin (Tera) Swanson, and Logan (Atlana) Swanson. Great grandmother of Barrett and Preston Janssen, Keaton and Claire Janssen, Jack Janssen, Ivan Southworth, Isla, Henry, and Luca Mastalir, Emilia and Graham Van Vonderen, Josie Moore, Mila and Gwyneth Moore, Margaret, Walter, and Louis Moore, Graysen, Barren, and Braylen Swanson, and Harper and Wrenley Swanson.

Margaret is survived by her sister, Dolores (Katherine) (Dennis) Zwiers; brothers Michael Olejniczak, Paul Olejniczak, Joseph (Margie) Olejniczak, and Mark (Phil) Olejniczak. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Paul (Nett) Janssen and Alan Janssen; sister-in-law, Doris Faye Janssen and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Margaret to eternal life are her father and mother; her husband, Preston in 2008; his parents, Preston Sr. and Aileen Janssen; grandsons, Nathan Louis Janssen and Adam Paul Janssen; son-in-law, Kevin Swanson; brother, Peter Olejniczak; sister, Clare Stroobants; brothers-in-law, Thomas Janssen Sr., and Marvin Stroobants; sisters-in-law, Naomi Olejniczak and Carol Olejniczak.

Margaret is and will be so missed. She holds a precious spot in our hearts and her memory will live on forever.
