Margaret Jean (Margie) Mancheski passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Sunday May 7, 2023 with her family by her side. Margie was born on September 11,1932, the daughter of John and Arbella (LaFond) Dixon in St. Anne, IL.
Margie was a sweet, loving wife, mother, grandmother with a beautiful smile and she gave the best hugs!!
Margie loved spending time with her family and friends sharing her memories of growing up in a family of 18 children. She learned at a very young age to care for her younger siblings. Perhaps that is why one of her greatest joys were baby’s. If there was a baby in the house that is where you would find her. Marge also enjoyed cooking. She will be remembered for her beef and pork roast dinners with all the fixings and for her favorite sauerkraut and pork recipe. Margie loved to play cards, whether it be with her bridge club ladies, or a good sheepshead game with friends and family. If Margie heard the mention of cards, she would be there with her jar full of coins ready to play and she played the game well. I guess that’s why her coin jar was always full. Marge enjoyed traveling whether it was a weekend to visit family or a long adventurous trip with Lawrence just touring different places in their RV.
After the passing of Margie’s father, she and some of her siblings came to Wisconsin to live with her Aunt and Uncle on their farm in Langes Corners. Here is where she met and married the love of her life, Lawrence Mancheski. They married on October 5, 1951 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pine Grove,WI. During their 71 years of marriage they enjoyed raising their 5 children together.
Margie is going to be deeply missed by her husband Lawrence; her children:Dan Mancheski, Sandra Leiterman, Kevin(Beckie) Mancheski, Cindy (Jesse) Kusserow, Mike (Cathy) Mancheski. Her 13 grandchildren: Dakotah (Dave) Gordon, Colton (Marie) Mancheski, Brad (Mindy) Leiterman, Angela Mumbrue, Amy Zirbel, Ashley (Bobby Plog) Mancheski, Adam and Dylan Mancheski, Wendy (Abe) Henry, Corey (Wendy Maxey) Tielens,Tiffany (Dan) Kremmer, Jacob (Samantha Brown) Mancheski, Madison (Dylan) Hanson.
