Lula Mae Forstner, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2024. She was born on February 4, 1935, in the Town of Rosiere, Wisconsin. On February 11, 1956, she married David Forstner at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brussels, WI. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2012. Lu loved the Packers, she was always watching them on TV and could tell you anything you wanted to know about them. This got her the nickname of “Mrs. Lombardi”. She also liked to play cards and dance. She and David would often dance together, their specialty was the Jitterbug. Lu worked for St. Norbert College as a housekeeper and formed many relationships that she still maintains, especially her good friend, Allan. She was known for her daily trips to Seroogy’s Chocolates. She loved her family and will remain forever in their hearts.
She is survived by her children; Julie (Bill) Zakowski, Paul Forstner, Lisa (sp. friend Tony) Forstner, Craig (Heather) Forstner and Wendi (Larry) Lemmen, grandchildren; Scott (Stephanie) Hendricks, Laura (Fiancé Ian Prosser) Manteufel, Rhea Roush, J.C. Roush, Gena Roush, Tara Forstner, Brittany (Nick Hug) Watruba and Dylan Watruba, great grandchildren; Skyla (Derrick), Celeste, David, Hunter, Lincoln, Lily, Emma, Emery, Grayson, Angel and Lorenzo. Lu is further survived by her brother, Leland (sp. Friend Sandi) Marcelle, sister, Leatrice (sp. Friend Hector) Naze as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, David Forstner, son, Perry Forstner, sister-in-law, Rosie Marcelle and brother-in-law, David Naze.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:45am at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere with a funeral service to follow at noon. A private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family would like to thank staff at Cardinal Ridge and Heartland Hospice for all of the wonderful care given to Lu.
