LeRoy H. Goetler

Leroy Goetler died April 29 after being in Courtyard Bellevue and Hospice. They helped us deal with his having dementia. It was an honor to help my Dad, along with our Friend, Julie from Hope. When I couldn’t drive because of my vertigo, Julie took Dad wherever he wanted to go, and they had many an adventure. He would have adopted her if he could have. More than that, she stayed with Dad when my crappy body gave out on me. Julie was with Dad and was reading Portals of Prayer with him that morning he passed. I knew when she called and Lori from The Courtyard at Bellevue that Dad was gone to Heaven having Hot Coffee with God. I’m sure he found Mom, who passed in 1988 of breast cancer, and they are back in the UP and fishing forever on Lake Gogebic. Dad’s funeral is Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Hope Lutheran Church-LCMS, 700 South Superior St., De Pere, WI 54115 starting at 10:00 am for coffee and visitation, service at 11:00 am by Pastor Baye. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Wittenberg, WI.

My dad was a Marine veteran so Helen will play the Marine Hymn at the end. Dad will get a 3-gun salute in the parking lot. Then I get a flag as a surviving relative. Luncheon after in the fellowship hall. Please bring anyone along. All are welcome. 🙏
