Leona M. Beining

Leona M. Beining peacefully entered heaven to be with her Savior and reunited with her husband, Cliff, on April 4, 2026, at the age of 89. Leona was born in the Town of Rockland, on the family farm on February 13, 1937. She was the 6th of eight children born to George and Mary (Hecker) Dollar.

On August 3,1957 Leona married Clifford N. Beining, at St. Francis Catholic Church, in DePere. Leona and Cliff started their lives together and began building a family.

Leona was a devoted and loving wife, a wonderfully attentive mother, as well as a proud doting grandmother. Leona’s deep Catholic faith was the rock-solid foundation she built her life upon. She actively served the church in many ways - committees, religious education, and the children’s hot lunch program, to name a few.

Leona was an avid gardener and loved to bake. She worked for many years at Dick’s Family Foods, in Wrightstown, but her most rewarding job was being a mother and homemaker. Time spent with her children and grandchildren - and bringing them all together brought her joy and happiness.

Left to cherish Leona's memory are her children; Dan (Patty) Beining, Dennis (Julie) Beining, Lori Romanek, Becky (Mike) Baeten, Connie (Mickey) Clancy, Carrie (Adam King) Wegehaupt, Jesse (Marissa) Beining, Jamie ( Sumiko) Beining; her grandchildren: Matthew (Chris), Chelsea (Tim), Nick (Kalsie), Stephanie (Jordan), Eric (Olivia), Emma (Francis), Ashley (Jimmy), Cassie (Brian), Mark, Amber, Haley, Jacob, Hannah (Sawyer), Miles, Jordan, Dylan and Cameron; her step-grandchildren: Paul (Katie), Neil (Chloe), Brooke (Josh), Brandon (Rachel), including 8 great-grandchildren – with two on the way: as well as one sister, Rita Lacenski, brother-in-law, Pat Henning and sister-in-law, Fran Beining.

Leona was preceded in death by; her parents, husband, Cliff, and her son-in-law, Dean Romanek: her sisters and brothers-in-law; Arlene (Cyril) Thomas, Angie (Bob) Roffers, Elsie (Don) Krajnik, Gladys (Joe) Diny, Joan (Dick) Mauer, and Jan Henning: a brother-in-law, Bernard Lacenski: In-laws; Ken (Carol) Beining, John Beining, Mary (Ken) Bungeon, Jerry (Joan) Beining.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday April 16, 2026, at Cotter Family Gathering Center

(518 Meadow Ln. Wrightstown, WI 54180), beginning at 11:00am, until the time of service to be held at 1:00pm, with Deacon Ken Kabat presiding. Burial will be private for immediate family in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greenleaf.

Leona’s family wishes to thank Angel’s Touch and Moments Hospice for the care and compassion given to their mother.
