Lavon Scott

Lavon Scott, age 98, of De Pere, WI passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023. She was born November 10, 1924 in Waterloo, Iowa to the late Irving & Lillian Monahan. She was the second of five children.

In August 1946 she was united in marriage with Charles Scott. Lavon attended the University of Northern Iowa, while Charles went to the University of Iowa. They enjoyed 58 happy years together, with 34 of those years living in De Pere, WI, prior to his death in 2004.

Lavon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed Sunday nature walks after church with the family, and loading all the kids in the car to travel to national parks, stopping at every historic sign on the highway to read. She will be remembered as a great listener to her children, her cuddles to her grandchildren and her famous macaroni and cheese.

Surviving her are her 6 children: sons Stephen Scott, Maryland; Doug (Lindsey) Scott, Washingon; Jeff (Casey) Scott, Appleton; and daughters Marcia (John Foss) Scott, Lannon; LuAnne (Jerry) Weigel, Kimberly; Sarah (Steve) Merline, Manitowoc, WI; 16 grandchildren: Mark (Courtney) Denis, Kevin (Emily) Denis, Kirsten (Brent) Baumgartner, Lissa (Craig Roloff) Siebers; Shelby (John) Schweitzer, Sydney (Paul) Eckert, Hunter Scott, Gretchen Scott, Vivian Scott, Violet Scott, Boyd (Naomi) Scott, Charlie Scott, Aubrey (fiancé Niles Clark) Scott, Lexie (Tyler) Sleeter, Cally (fiancé CJ Last) Merline, Addie Merline, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be no services as family is having a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established by the family in memory of Lavon Scott.
