Maribel

Laura M. Valenta, age 57 of Maribel, passed away peacefully at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center on Friday, July 31, 2026, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 26, 1969, in Manitowoc, to Lester and Dolores (Loberger) Valenta. Laura graduated from Denmark High School with the class of 1987. Following graduation, she headed out to California for a short time and then to the East Coast before returning home.

In 1998, she graduated from UWGB with a degree in Human Biology and a Certificate degree in Supply Chain Management, finishing at the top of her class. She also worked for Burns Security at Proctor and Gamble in Green Bay and as a claims specialist at AMS Insurance. In addition, she served the community as a Volunteer Emergency Medical Responder with Maribel First Responders. Her last employment was as a bookkeeper for her brother Mark’s trucking company, CTOW, in Maribel.

Laura loved traveling throughout Europe with her sister, Julie, and went on as many trips in recent years as her health would allow. She was an avid reader with mystery novels as one of her favorite types of books and she also loved the challenge of putting together a wide variety of puzzles.

Laura was an animal lover who was always open to take in and adopt another stray if one came her way. She had many pets throughout the years including her longtime dog companion, Chloe, and most recently her cat, Oliver. She will also be remembered for her subtle sarcastic wit and quiet sense of humor.

Laura was a tireless caretaker for her parents, especially over the last 11 years, as well as always being willing to help everyone around her when needed. Her generous nature continues on with her gift of organ donation.

Laura is survived by her mother, Dolores; five siblings, Mark Valenta, Dan (Mary) Valenta, Julie Bakran, Sandra (Eric Zarling) Valenta and Michael Valenta; one nephew, Christopher (Jaci) Valenta, five nieces, Jacci Valenta, Karli (Cuyler) Franzke, Elizabeth Valenta, Isabel Perez, Violet Perez; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Rocco, Marvin, Karmichael, Candy, Bowen, Iver, and Maren. Laura is further survived by one uncle, Edwin Valenta; one aunt, Janet (Loberger) Harvey; as well as many cousins and friends.

Preceding Laura in death was her father, Lester Valenta; grandparents, Albert and Rose (Sladkey) Valenta, Urban and Christine (Blahnik) Loberger; step-grandfather, Frank Feit; cousin Gary Valenta; and many aunts and uncles.

In keeping with Laura’s wishes, the immediate family will gather privately to honor and remember her. We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers during this time.

If you wish to honor her memory with a donation, please do so by making a donation to either a cancer research or local animal rescue organization of your choice.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Laura’s brother, Mark, and Laura’s dear friend, Sue (Konkol) Rukamp, for everything they did to assist Laura in so many ways throughout the years and for their care and support of Laura throughout her long battle with cancer. The family would also like to give a special thank you to the staff of Aurora Baycare Medical Center and Advocate Health Hospice for providing Laura with exceptional care.
