Larry E. Laundrie

October 9, 1950 — January 22, 2026

Larry E. Laundrie, aged 75, passed away peacefully after a brief but devastating illness at Aurora BayCare Medical Center on the evening of January 22nd, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born to the late William P. (Bus) Laundrie and Betty J. Laundrie (Vander Muss) in Green Bay on October 9th, 1950. He attended and graduated from East High School in 1969. He was married to (former spouse) Shirley Liebert on December 2nd, 1972, and they had two children, William (Bill) and Tracy. Larry worked at Gardner Denver after graduating high school until May of 1975, when he started working at Paper Converting Machine Company as an assembler, later working on Road Service (assembling paper converting machines in remote locations, then training staff how to run and repair the machines) until he retired in April of 2014 with 39 years of service. He was a good provider and a proud Union member.

One of three children, the middle child and only boy, Larry was his father’s apprentice from a young age. He grew to become a very handy jack of all trades, being skilled in many areas and the person everyone could count on to fix, solve, or create something. He was a good neighbor and friend. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and pets; camping in Door County, boating, fishing, enjoying a good meal (especially a good perch plate, burger, or steak), traveling, and complaining about the current administration - even in his final hours.

He married the love of his life, Kay Haakenstad, on March 3rd, 2003. Larry and Kay were happily married for 22 years.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kay; children Bill Laundrie (Ryan Haws) and Tracy Laundrie; sister Linda (Fred) Miller; brother-in-law Larry LaFave, brother-in-law Fred (Linda) Miller, former brothers and sisters-in-law (Ken & Lynne Liebert, Duane Volk, and Susie Liebert), special cousin Jane (Jim) Gore, nieces Elizabeth (Sebastian Gocan) Higginbotham, Ann (Jim) LaRocco, Tammy LaFave, and great and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as former nieces and nephews from his first marriage, who will always remember him as Uncle Larry. He is also survived by cherished friends Jim & Danice Harold, Keith & Ardie Kutska, Michael Schmitt, and several neighbors that became good friends throughout his life no matter where he lived.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bus and Betty Laundrie; sister Sharon (Larry) LaFave, former spouse Shirley Krauter, former brothers and sisters-in-law (Bev Volk, Donald Radloff, Barbara Hamlet, Doug & Sharon Krueger), former nephew Daniel Krueger, his special cousin Jim (Jane) Gore and cherished friend Bonnie (Michael) Schmitt.

Per Larry's wishes, a private family viewing and interment will be held.
