Kurt J. Fulcer

January 7, 1963 — October 10, 2025

Appleton

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, papa, brother, and friend, Kurt J. Fulcer. He lost his battle with stage IV bladder cancer on Friday, October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Appleton on January 7, 1963, to the late Warren and Selma (Lust) Fulcer. He graduated from Appleton East High School, class of 1981. Kurt went on to attend FVTC, taking courses in welding, but that was not his passion. His passion was to coach. Kurt coached Learn to Bowl on Saturday mornings at Bluejay Bowl and later Sabre Lanes, then coached the Appleton East High School Bowling teams, taking them to state on more than one occasion. He worked various jobs, such as store manager and restaurant manager. He was a limousine driver for many years, something he really enjoyed, before becoming an underground utility locator. He took this job very seriously, and for the last several years he worked for Excel Underground.

Kurt was a kind soul, always eager to help anyone. He made friends easily. He loved his children and especially his grandchildren. He was very proud of each of them and the accomplishments they had achieved. He loved bowling, of course, as well as golf, which he enjoyed most with his son and son in law. Kurt also loved fishing, boating, movies, board games, taking his granddaughters out for breakfast and, recently, he had begun to garden at his farmhouse in Kiel. Kurt was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. He will be missed for his bear hugs, humor, and kindness.

Those left to remember him are his children; Ben (Kaitlyn Oceana) Fulcer, Alyssa (Jason) Bayer, Josh and Rachel Fulcer, his granddaughters, Emma and Ellie, his brothers; Don Fulcer, Jack (Darlene) Fulcer, Bill (Chris) Fulcer, and Ben (Cheryl) Fulcer, and his sister, Nancy Dean. Kurt is further survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Jim (Dawn) Fulcer and John (Joan) Fulcer, nephews who were like brothers, other relatives, friends and his former wife, Laura Fulcer and her family; Tim (Dana) Hovind, Dianna (Eric) Hovind-Stroemer and "mom", Keran Hovind.

Preceding him in death are his parents, infant sister, Jeanette, sister in law, Mary Fulcer, brother in law, Karl Dean, nieces, Karen Dean, and Lisa Berge, nephews, Paul Weber and Jason Fischer, great nephew, Andrew Fulcer, great niece, Dani Fischer and former father in law, Jerry Hovind.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Cotter Family Gathering Center, 518 Meadow Lane, Wrightstown. Family and friends may gather from 12:00 pm until the time of sharing and prayers at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

The family would like to thank Unity Hospice staff and nurses, especially Jen, for your kindness and caring. We knew you’d be there for us. To Maria and Ray from Excel Underground, for all your support, and Pigeon River Landscaping, for taking care of his lawn in Kiel, when he couldn’t. Last but not least, Dr. Kristen "Shortly" Holzwart, thank you for all your kindness and care helping him get to a diagnosis.
